
Lokamanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak People called him Tilak Maharaj. British writer pronounced him as the father of Indian unrest. For us, he will go down to the generations yet unborn as a maker of modern India, wrote Mahatma Gandhi. Born a year before the first war of independence. Tilak died 27 years before India become free. His life story therefore, also describes major part of the history of the Indian freedom struggle.
